Alan McCubbin commenced his Engineering career surveying and supervising the electrical refit of naval vessels. After that he headed a research and development group designing household appliances before changing careers to become the manager of the electrical, electronic and instrument departments of a large aircraft company where his responsibilities included manufacturing components for the FA18 tactical fighter aircraft. Upon leaving he purchased SEPHCO, a thermal engineering business and after 10 years sold that to purchase uninterruptable power supply manufacturing company. While manufacturing UPS Alan was invited to resolve computer infrastructure environment problems for companies like HP and IBM. From that small start he started a new company to work in that field full time. With his broad background Alan volunteered to chair the Standards Australia Computer Accommodation revision committee.
NOTE: The Editor is a member of the AS2834-1995 revision committee and encourages all those interested in becoming part of this revision group to contact the group’s Chairman, Alan McCubbin via eMail AlanMcCubbin@ 0402460492.com or mobile +61 (0)402 460 492 .
